If you want to edit your site’s content without paying a web developer for every change, you need a content management system (CMS). Drupal and WordPress are two popular examples of web software that have been used to build anything from personal blogs to corporate sites. Both have their strengths and we’ll let you know which is the best choice for you.
Design customisation
Both Drupal and WordPress come with plenty of eye-catching design templates, or ‘themes’. Those who want to get started quickly and with minimum investment can choose a pre-made theme which we’ll install and customise. We’re also very happy to design something from scratch if want a unique look.
Maintenance
It would be nice if you could throw up a web site and forget about it until the next time you want to make changes. However, just like with any bit of software, developers of the CMS and related modules release updates to fix bugs, improve security and add new features. Furthermore, web technology evolves quickly and sometimes a previously problem-free site may stop working properly with new web browser versions.
It’s important to keep track of these changes to avoid problems with your site but many people are far too busy. That’s where we come in. We’ll keep an eye on the updates and fix problems as they arise to make sure that you can spend your time looking after customers.
Aside from keeping your website maintained, we can also renew domains, update content, respond to support questions from visitors and set-up email addresses on demand.
Website and email hosting
“Our servers are located in a state-of-the-art secure data centre…” How many times have you heard that when dealing with a web development company? Well, we don’t own any servers in data centres. The reason is simple: only people with deep pockets can really afford to run their own business-critical servers. So instead of pretending to be one of the big boys, we’ll be straight with you. Our servers are outsourced to people who do have the infrastructure and resources to support a reliable service.
However, we don’t put a huge markup on a service that you can easily get yourself at a low cost. All our customers get hosting on our Rackspace Cloud account included with their maintenance package.
Already have hosting? No problem. If you’re happy with your existing hosting provider, keep your site where it is and we’ll manage it on your behalf.
